Our guest speaker is to be Paul Burbridge, Artistic Director of the Riding Lights Theatre Company.
The title of the lecture will be 'Theatre Works: York Mystery Plays to Riding Lights, a dramatic thread'.

Paul’s lecture will draw on the ways in which theatre has and still can make a significant contribution to Christian communication. It will draw on his considerable experience of both and will also include a sketch of relevance to an audience of librarians.

Do join us in York if you can for this free event. No need to book but do contact John Wickenden [email protected] if you would like more details.

Paul Burbridge is the Artistic Director of Riding Lights Theatre Company, one of the UK’s most productive independent theatre companies, which he co-founded in the late 1970’s.  Based at Friargate Theatre in York, Riding Lights works from a Christian perspective, performing in all kinds of venues across the UK, from major theatres, to schools, churches and prisons. Paul has had extensive professional experience of directing and writing for the theatre, including directing the York Mystery Plays in 2012. His Riding Lights experience has included overseeing many years of all-age Summer Theatre Schools and leading several trips to Israel/Palestine, which have combined on-location theatre performance with pilgrimage.

We are hoping to provide a live Zoom webinar of the lecture from 2 p.m. on the day. Contact John Wickenden [email protected] for the Zoom meeting details.
